Rosenthal Sanssouci Platinum Bread and Butter Plate

This Rosenthal Sanssouci Platinum Bread and Butter Plate is in great condition! The relief of the porcelain Sanssouci is designed to look like the Rococo stucco ceiling of the "Great Hall" in the castle of the same name. This pattern, used between 1720-1780 during the porcelain heyday, was so beloved that it was copied by multiple manufacturers. However, only Rosenthal was able to obtain the license from KPM to produce it true to the original design. And to this day, it remains the "Old Fritz" service. Interestingly, after fading out of style, Sanssouci was resurrected in 1926 and remains one of Rosenthal's most popular designs.
