Dirilyte-Dirigold Brass Scalloped 3 Footed Tray

This Vintage Dirilyte Brass Scalloped 3 Footed Round Tray has a design that gives the impression of a "genie's bottle." Beautiful and versatile, this tray can be used for so many things - and is a spectacular centerpiece for any room! According to the Dirilyte Company history, brass was produced using a solid bronze alloy and this tray had a BP coating which they used from 1961 until the company closed in 1986. The bronze metal alloy known as Dirilyte was developed by Carl Molin in 1914 in Sweden. He began marketing it as Dirigold in 1919. Seven years later he moved his manufacturing to Kokomo. In 1935 the Federal Trade Commission made the company change its name from Dirigold to avoid confusion since the products contained no actual gold. No two pieces of Dirilyte are exactly alike. Each piece was individually handcrafted without an assembly line and is a reflection of the skill of the worker who made it.
